Police are looking for a Lyft driver, Kevin Jun Chau, who demanded sex from a customer in order to return her phone back. The incident occurred on March 30, 2015 when a Lyft driver dropped a woman to her home near 20th Ave East and East Jefferson Street. She later realised that she left her phone in Chau’s car. When she called her phone, the driver answered and refused to return the phone back. After calling several times Kevin Jun Chau, Lyft driver, agreed to return the phone on the condition if she would agree to have sex with her.
According to the police the woman convinced Chau to return the phone at her home and she would meet her outside. When Chau came to return the phone he had the phone in his hand. When the woman reached inside Chau’s vehicle to retrieve the phone, Chau drove off, dragging the woman with him. The woman finally managed to break free but suffered injuries on her legs and arms.
The woman later contacted the police, the police are still in search of Chau who is on a run. When contacted Lyft they told that they have disabled the driver’s account. Police is still looking for Kevin Jun Chau.
Before we would hear stories about Uber drivers sexually harassing passengers now Lyft drivers are also on the same path. It looks like that these tech companies are only focused on making money and they do proper background cheeks of the drivers who are working for them, putting in danger the lives of innocent people.
