Carmen Yulin Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, P.R., was kicked out of the cab with her colleagues in Greenwich Village. She wanted to go to the Bronx. The second New York Cab driver took her to her hotel in The Bronx but was complaining and was not happy to do so.
Ms. Mark-Viverito was disappointed with the drivers behavior and said to file formal complaints with the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission.
Its time for us as drivers to educate Ms. Mark-Viverito and the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission that the reason why the drivers don’t want to go to the Bronx or any other New York borough is because we don’t feel safe. Many times cab drivers get robbed or even shot by thugs in these boroughs and help is no where to be found.
